Chiefs post game - Matt Nagy

by Anarin21 1 month ago

Matt Nagy hasn't been shy when it comes to his team over the past few years. And following the the loss against the Kansas City Chiefs he sounded off. Here are some of the takes from the post game conference.

Reporter:
"What do you think is the biggest factor in today's loss?"

Nagy:
"When you give up !$#%& forty points, 400 yards passing and turn the ball over 5 !$!%@ times, that will 99% of the time end in a loss"

Reporter:
"Tyler Buchner has seen a decrease in accuracy dating back to the end of last year, into the playoffs and the first couple games of this year; Is this something you are concerned with?"

Nagy:
"Tyler will be the first to tell you that he hasn't been playing his best ball lately. He's been missing the easy ones, and turning the ball over way too much. But it doesnt just rest on his shoulders, the offensive line hasn't given him alot of time, and in the past couple of weeks he's had chris jones and kenny clark up his ass most of the game. So he's forced some throws that he should've ate, and he's been forced into a few bad reads that he will need to be better at."

Reporter:
"Do you feel like maybe the window to win the Super Bowl closed last season? The defense has gotten older, and they appear to be one step slower so far"

Nagy:
"I don't think the window has closed, maybe our best shot at the Super Bowl may have been the last two years, and maybe it hasn't. Look, we're gonna strap up for battle week in and week out with these guys. Are some of them older at this stage in their career? Absolutely, but none of them are past their prime. If we're standing here in Week 17 looking at a top 10 pick in the draft, yeah.. maybe at that point we'll have realized that we missed our shot. But I have faith that we can clean it up and get back to Bears football."

Reporter:
"Jaquiski Tartt had been one of the most consistent players on the defense the past couple of seasons, and alot of analysts thought his best days were behind him, and yet he was signed again at 31 years old. After the first couple of games, do you think that age has caught up to him? Are you considering giving Antoine Pressley a few more reps?

Nagy:
"Jaquiski hasn't played his best football in the first couple of weeks, and he has dropped more interceptions than I could probably count, but I am chalking it up to a slow start. Look, this guy has accounted for over 20 turnovers by himself the last two seasons, you just dont forget how to make plays, he'll come around. As far as Antoine; he's hungry. We do plan on sliding him into the defense from time to time to get him some reps. I think he can be a good one for us down the road.

Reporter:
"What are your thoughts on the experts closing the door on you competing for the playoffs given your brutal schedule?"

Nagy:
"I say let them write the opinion articles, and let me coach the !$#%! games. Are we playing our best football of all time right now? Not even close. But this is still the same team that can make a run. We just have to get our heads out of asses right now."
