Panthers defeated the Vikings, 18-15. J. Herbert’s 240-yard passing day and 2 touchdown passes gave Carolina the clearest edge, with R. Shaheed providing 95 receiving yards as a reliable outlet. The Panthers did their best work through the air, and Herbert’s efficiency put them in position to come away with the win. It was the kind of measured offensive showing that held up when the margin stayed tight. Minnesota had its chances behind M. Clemens, who threw for 170 yards and 1 touchdown. C. Kupp added 71 receiving yards, giving the Vikings needed production in a game that remained within reach. In the end, those efforts amounted to a strong response in a loss, but not quite enough to overturn Carolina’s passing advantage.
