Raiders defeated the Patriots, 21-7. C. Miller gave Las Vegas the control it needed, throwing for 188 yards and a touchdown as the Raiders kept the offense moving. J. Tolbert provided a steady target in the passing game with 63 receiving yards. That combination gave the Raiders enough punch to dictate the game on their terms. New England had production of its own in defeat, with B. Purdy passing for 195 yards to keep the Patriots pressing for answers. D. Smith added 53 receiving yards and supplied one of the brighter offensive notes for the losing side. Even so, the Patriots could not match the efficiency the Raiders found behind Miller.
