Lions defeated the Chiefs, 34-13. M.Applewhite drove Detroit with a prolific day through the air, passing for 251 yards and 5 touchdown passes. I.TeSlaa was his most dangerous target, turning 88 receiving yards into 2 touchdowns and giving the Lions a consistent edge. D.Slayton added 57 receiving yards as Detroit’s passing game kept producing at the moments that mattered. Kansas City had its best work come through P.Mahomes, who passed for 156 yards, but the Chiefs could not match the pace Detroit established. Mahomes kept looking for answers, yet the Lions’ control through the air left Kansas City trying to respond. It was a strong enough effort to keep competing, but not enough to change the result.
