Vikings defeated the Buccaneers, 27-24. M. Dumaine led the winning effort with 245 yards passing and 2 touchdown passes, giving the Vikings the kind of efficient production they needed. J. Osamu was his most dangerous outlet, piling up 169 receiving yards and stretching the Buccaneers throughout the night. The Vikings did not need to dress it up beyond that connection, because Dumaine and Osamu supplied the biggest plays in a game decided by a narrow margin. Tampa Bay had plenty to answer with in defeat. L. Jackson threw 2 touchdown passes and finished with 196 yards, keeping the Buccaneers in striking distance behind a steady passing game. E. Egbuka added 76 receiving yards and provided a reliable target as the Buccaneers turned in a strong offensive showing that still came up just short.
