Game of the Week Recap

Saints defeated the Buccaneers, 20-17. P. Hurley guided the Saints with 132 passing yards and a touchdown pass, giving New Orleans enough production through the air to finish on top. D. Cox added 47 receiving yards and helped keep the offense moving when chances were there. The Saints did not need a barrage of big numbers, only timely work from Hurley and a steady contribution from Cox in a game they ultimately won. Tampa Bay had its chances in a strong effort that came up short. B. Mayfield threw a touchdown pass and finished with 115 yards, while C. Godwin Jr. led the Buccaneers with 91 receiving yards and remained the focal point of their passing game. The Buccaneers generated enough offense to stay within reach throughout, but the Saints made just enough plays to turn that production into a loss for Tampa Bay.
