Lions defeated the Vikings, 23-20. J.Goff threw 2 touchdown passes, helping Detroit make the most of a compact passing output. He finished with 116 passing yards, and J.Williams chipped in with 33 receiving yards as the Lions found enough production to come away with the win. Detroit did not need a huge volume night through the air with Goff delivering the scoring throws that mattered. Minnesota had plenty to like in defeat behind J.McCarthy, who passed for 225 yards and threw 1 touchdown pass. J.Nailor gave the Vikings a big lift with 112 receiving yards, providing the kind of downfield production that kept the pressure on throughout. Even with those efforts, the Vikings came up just short against a Lions team that was sharper where it counted.
