Texans defeated the Chargers, 27-14. C.J. Stroud guided the winning effort with 185 passing yards, and Tank Dell gave Houston a reliable presence in the passing game with 95 receiving yards. The Texans did enough through the air to stay in control, with Stroud setting the tone and Dell helping keep the offense moving. Houston’s passing game was not overwhelming, but it was effective where it needed to be. The Chargers found some production in defeat behind Justin Herbert, who threw 1 touchdown pass and finished with 248 passing yards. Ladd McConkey was his top threat, turning in 99 receiving yards as Los Angeles kept pushing for answers. Even with Herbert’s yardage and McConkey’s strong afternoon, the Chargers were left chasing the game against a Houston team that finished the job.
