Panthers defeated the Saints, 63-54. Carolina’s edge came from a passing game that found its biggest answers in C.Watson and C.Butler. Watson turned his chances into 2 touchdowns, while Butler stretched the field with 205 receiving yards and gave the Panthers a constant source of explosive offense. With those two driving the attack, the Panthers had the firepower to finish on top. New Orleans had plenty to answer with, even in the loss. J.Davis delivered a huge afternoon, piling up 145 receiving yards and reaching the end zone 3 times to keep the Saints dangerous throughout. His production gave the Saints a real push, but the Panthers matched it with even more finishing power.
