49ers defeated the Giants, 31-17. B.Purdy set the tone through the air, throwing 2 touchdown passes and finishing with 248 yards for San Francisco. He had a major target in R.Pearsall, who turned his chances into 130 receiving yards as the 49ers kept control. The passing game gave the 49ers the edge and enough punch to put the result away. The Giants still found offense in the loss behind J.Dart, who threw 2 touchdown passes. J.Hyatt was the biggest problem for the San Francisco secondary, catching 2 touchdowns and piling up 101 receiving yards. That production kept New York threatening, even as the 49ers held on to claim the win.
