Bengals defeated the Patriots, 31-30. Joe Burrow drove Cincinnati’s winning effort with 320 passing yards and 3 touchdown passes, giving the Bengals the kind of aerial punch they needed throughout. Ja'Marr Chase was his decisive target, turning 3 touchdown catches into the game’s defining production while finishing with 127 receiving yards. That connection gave the Bengals their edge and kept the offense dangerous whenever Burrow went looking for a play. New England had plenty to answer with in the loss, starting with Drake Maye, who threw for 235 yards and added 1 touchdown pass. Kayshon Boutte supplied a strong receiving night of his own with 94 yards, helping the Patriots stay within striking distance. Even so, the Bengals’ passing game proved just a little sharper when it mattered most.
