Week 1 we kicked off the season against the Detriot Lions. Trace McSorley and Saquon Barkley powered the offense was they combined for 5 TDs. On defense, Von Miller added 2 sacks and other than 2 big plays for the Lions, the defense held them in check the entire game. With this being New England's first official game since their superbowl loss last season, it was important to start this season off with a W. Patriots win 41-21

Week 14 we took on the TB Bucs at home. The game was not looking good early for the Pats as they were down 2 scores in the first half. The New England offense and defense both kicked it up a notch in the 2nd half, as the Pats forced a total of 5 turnovers and the offense rebounded mightly behind QB Philip Rivers. Pats went on to win 27-24 and pushed their win streak to 13 games.

Week 10 was round 2 with the defending world champion Jets and the Patriots made sure that game 1 wasn't a fluke. New England crushed the Jets 34-7 and moved to 2-0 on the year against their main rivals (currently on a 3 game winning streak against them) after dropping the first 4 games (1 in the playoffs). Defense was the deciding factor this game as Derwin James hammered 3 forced fumbles and the Patriots defense added 3 Darnold picks.

Week 5 the Patiots took on the Dolphins and their new owner Herc is Here for his first game in the XCFL. The first quarter was mostly feeling eachother out as far as how each team was going to play. The difference in the game was yet again Saquon Barkley with his 227 yards and 4 rushing TDs. The Patriot defense killed any chance at a comeback forcing 3 INTs and 1 fumble. Pats win 41-6.

After suffering a upsetting loss in the 2nd round of the playoffs against the Ravens, the Patriots found themselves in rebuild mode after QB Tom Brady and WR Julian Edelman retired in the offseason. With no 1st, 2nd, 3rd round pick., the Pats needed to fix their team via FA and trades. The biggest snag for the Pats in FA was Snacks Harrison, who filled an immediate hole at DT.
